There is a need for me to be very honest. Open and raw.
To run the sheepcard through this wool and untangle the fibers,
free the debris.
I need this honesty to appear physically so I can name the experiences
that are becoming lodged so deeply in me that they become beliefs.
Color, line and personal mythology have helped me understand my story.
Now I share my story: That I as a mother, an artist, and a community
member bring strength and wholeness to my work.
I thank my personal archetypes bear, rhino, wolf, crocodile, fox and crow
that have appeared through sleeping and waking dreams, and straight out
of the place between brush and paper.
Each night, upon a table made of wood, I place the sheepcard down.
Thankful for a life rich with stories. |
